Real Estate Article: How Do Sellers Choose the Right Agent
04/13/2005

Selling a home is a complex process and its no simple task. In order to succeed in this highly competitive market, you must select the right agent to help you. Five things to consider when selecting your agent:

1) Reputation is important: If you know of a highly acclaimed agent or often hear of a specific agent being brought up do not hesitate to discuss business with him or her, especially if the reason he/she is well known are ones that appeal to you.#1 realtor, Chino Hills, Chino Valley, Corona Valley, Diamond Bar, Rowland Heights, Eastvale, California, CA, Inland Empire, San Bernardino, Real Estate, Agents, Top Agent, Realtors

2) Be aware of how much experience your agent has: Some agents have had a license for over 20 years but this doesn’t necessarily mean that they have 20 years of experience. Other factors that should be considered are the number of successful transactions they have every year and whether or not they have kept up with their sales in recent years. Requesting an agent’s annual success rate is one way to be aware.

3)Make sure your agent’s selling process is systematic and reliable: An experienced agent must have a systematic work process. When the contract is signed and it is open escrow, the buyer has a number of protections. It is in a seller’s best interest to remove these contingencies as soon as possible. A good agent would have a systematic process of dealing with these contingencies in order to minimize losses for a seller. In addition to that, a agent using a systematic process will do things more efficiently.

4) Do they have different strategies to promote your home? : #1 realtor, Chino Hills, Chino Valley, Corona Valley, Diamond Bar, Rowland Heights, Eastvale, California, CA, Inland Empire, San Bernardino, Real Estate, Agents, Top Agent, RealtorsThere is no single strategy that works for the sale of every home. Promotional strategies must be adjusted to succeed in different environments. Depending on the area of your home, different styles of promotion must be used. If you were selling your home in an upper-class neighborhood, your agent must be able to appeal to the upper class. If you were selling your home a more average neighborhood, an agent must adjust his promotional process accordingly.

5) An agent’s familiarity to your community: Although an agent may be very experienced, you should not work with an agent unfamiliar with your area. An agent who’s unfamiliar with your area will have difficulties selling your home because they will not be aware of the constant changes occurring in your community, making it difficult to know how to impress buyers or change strategies when needed. In addition to those setbacks, they will most likely have a harder time finding their way around your area to attend meetings, pass out flyers, etc.
